WANTED: Low Denomination Foreign Coins

I was thinking today, that I want to build my foreign coin collection. I could care less about US coins other than what I find, but would love to extend my foreign coin hoard out further.

I'm looking for people who would unload low denomination foreign currency for the price of shipping or US equivalent in price.

I have a few Euro coins, not sure from what country, Norwegian Krone, Iraqi Fils, Canadian, Malaysian, Singapore and a few from Japan.

But I'll take anything!

I'm looking for decimal AU (or pre-decimal if you're willing), Philippines, German Marks, Polish Zlotsky (sp?), Mexican pesos, Venezuelan coins....

Just to name a few, but if you're willing to ship off others I'd take 'em.

I'm only looking at paying shipping + US equivalent, nothing more. Not looking for collectible pieces, just low denomination everyday coins similar to Pennies, Nickels Dimes and Quarters in the US.

Just contact me with info!

Off The Boat

Last night was a good time. Simple as that. Myself and a few guys from the boat got a free trip out to the mall area in Mobile. First stop, Wal*Mart, hehe. I picked up a couple movies for the boat (the new Indiana Jones and The Love Guru). After that, got dropped off at BestBuy, didn't buy anything there. Walked over to Barnes & Noble and picked up one of the James Rollins books I haven't read, Black Order I think is what it was. I also picked up the coin bible, widely known as The Red Book (I'm pictured with it above). Great reference book for those of us who like to metal detect and can't figure out what old coin we just freed from the ground.

After that we met back up with the guys over at Baumhower's Wings for some good grub and refreshments. We had a great time talking, eating, etc. I completely enjoyed it, plus I mean, there was sports and good lookin' women around... what's not to like?

Back to the boat we went. After 50 oz. of Oktoberfest, and the reading of The Red Book, off to sleep city I went. And sheesh, it wasn't even 10pm yet, hehe.

Around here today in port, not much happened. I did catch a glimpse of the Bernardo Quintana cargo ship whose home port is in Bermuda. There was too much stuff in the way to get a nice pic of it, but if you're THAT interested, just Google it.

Kylie Williams arrives!

About time she showed up, hehe. The Kylie Williams, one of our container source boats similar to the Toisa Crest. She pulled along side around 8pm last night, and I was busy watching TV, so I didn't see until this morning. The only real difference I saw was that the Instrument Room and stuff was perched on top of the gun strings, which is nice because it shades the guys doing the handling.

My buddy Jeff O'Neal was originally on this boat, so it would good to finally see her up close. The rest of the day was semi-productive. Jose and I painted the 6 poles around the MVP yellow. They turned out well as you can see from the photo down below.

We also helped tidy up the cable deck in order to prepare for leaving.... Thursday?

Kylie Williams... duh.

Very slow day in port

I think time seriously went backwards today, that's how slow it felt. After my early morning shift guarding the boat entryway, the rest of the day just seemed, meh. I can't even recall If I did anything constructive.

I do know however that I did three things:
1) Meandered around taking a few pics of things.
2) Watched "Grizzly Man" on DVD. Timothy Treadwell was one weird dude!
3) Watched the next episode of TrueBlood. That show is just so awesome!

The Wallace Glenn.

Cool southern morning

When I opened up the hatch form the accommodations deck out onto the Muster Area for my watch shift at 5:47am the first thought that went through my mind was, "Holy eff it's cold!" With a nice stiff breeze, it was down to 54 (12 for anyone not in the US). That's about 10 degrees colder than any other morning so far. But apparently the rest of the week is supposed to be like this, with daytime temps not even breaking 80, which all in all is pretty sweet.

Kylie should be here tomorrow in the late morning, and we have set an optimistic goal of getting out of port by mid to late next week. Hopefully that happens, be good to get back out at sea.

Other than that, did some cable running under the office floor and down a deck... took about an hour of the day, hehe. Then I was able to get outside for a bit and snap a few pics, though it's getting pretty redundant.

Rainy day in 'Bama

It was a very rainy and overcast day down here in the dirty south. It didn't really seem like all that much got done today. They did start putting out engine back together though, and that's a big plus. We tested some stuff in my office, all was well. But other than that, pretty drab. I got outside for a bit to get some pics, it started raining, so I went down underneath the pier.

Hmm... I also found out that those fish I have been taking pics of are Mullet. Down here they call them Biloxi Bacon, as I guess their skin is really oily and cooks up similar. Good eatin' around these parts I reckon.
