Austrian Treasure Hunt

"Treasure hunters armed with shovels and metal detectors have descended on a sleepy Austrian town in search of up to €5 million ($6.18 million) said to have been buried there by a fraudulent German financial advisor, says ORF, the Austrian broadcasting corporation.

Weekly World Coin Post: AUSTRIA

Welcome back to my MD blog! It's been nearly a month since I've made any notable post, and what better way to get back into it than by bringing by my Weekly World Coin Post, which was on hiatus.

I have a the next few weeks already lined up with coins and info regarding them. But I figured I'd start it off with the first letter of the alphabet, and go with Austria.

Early on in Austrian coinage, they had what was known as Corona's, and no, no relation to the beer. One Corona was broken up into 100 Heller. Nowadays of course they are part of the EU, so they use the Euro. But in between those two currencies, Austria quite a few other coinage like Ducats, Kronen, Thaler, Groschen and Schilling.

With no further adieu, the few coins I own.
