"Former Orange, Conn. music teacher Lorraine Zuba was prospecting at Westport’s Compo Beach today. Among her metal detector’s finds—a 2010 Westport dog license (inset). The Derby resident said she’s enjoyed the hobby for about five years and last week found a 1784 Connecticut coin on a beach. 'I listen for the pings--sometimes it’s a ‘C,’ or ‘E flat’ and I know what kind of metal I’ve found,' Zuba said."
