Boa vinda a Portigal!
As you can see, this week is all about Portugal. I have sailed passed the mainland of Portugal while I was on the M/V Geco Eagle, a seismic streamer vessel operated by WesternGeco. I have also visited the Azores, a group of islands in the Atlantic under Portugals flag.
Sadly, I never got much opportunity to get around or see anything, but I do have a few coins from the country. Now part of the EU, and using the Euro, Portugal's previous currency was the Escudo, which means "shield" in their language. With today's exchange rate, 1 USD is equal roughly to 144 Escudos. For more info on the Portuguese Escudo, click HERE.
